Last Friday, students in Grades 5-6 who met specific grade and behavior criteria during the 2nd nine weeks were treated to a movie day in the high school auditorium. The students watched the Jungle Book and had a great time.
The March edition of Coffee with the Superintendent is scheduled for Wednesday, March 11th @ 7pm in the EPHS auditorium. Discussion will revolve around the .5% income tax levy that is on the ballot March 17th.
This month's FACS Culture Lab represented England with a traditional breakfast tea and shortbread cookie! Every student enrolled in Mrs. Miller's FACS courses has the opportunity to participate in these monthly cooking labs because of the generosity of Mr. McTrustry and the United Methodist Church! PAWSITIVE POINTS: did you know that EPCSD has a comprehensive K-12 PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) program in place. This proactive system provides support for all students school-wide, and provides additional supports for at-risk students.
Attention Seniors! Please stop in the high school guidance office to pick up a scholarship application for the Edward J. DeBartolo Memorial Scholarship Fund. Last year, the foundation awarded 15 area students with $10,000 each in scholarship funds. The application deadline is April 17, for this highly competitive scholarship.

In tonight's game with East Canton, Jonathan Bertovich broke the single season scoring record for boys basketball. Jonathan broke the previous record of 557 points in a season that was set in 1980 by Brad Weber.

You are invited to attend the East Palestine High School Band winter concert on Monday, February 24 at 7:00 pm in the high school auditorium. Select soloists and music from Harry Potter and Star Wars will be featured. The concert is free and open to the public.

East Palestine Lady Bulldogs defeated Waterloo in the 1st round of the OHSAA playoffs on Wednesday night 58-50. They will travel to South Range on Saturday Feb. 22nd for a 1pm start. Please come to support our girls basketball team.

Today, in Ms. Brick’s Geometry classes, students are graphing emojis using a coordinate plane.



Students in Mrs. Spanos' history classes had the opportunity to take a "virtual field trip" with park rangers from Gettysburg National Park today! Using Google Hangouts, students got to speak with the rangers, see artifacts and ask questions about the battle, the Civil War, career opportunities and more. This is just one part of an activity where students have taken on the role as a historian in order to gather evidence on the Civil War through primary and secondary sources. It will culminate with an argumentative essay in which they must answer: Was it Worth It? East Palestine helped the Gettysburg NPS to pilot their virtual field trip program back in 2016!


This morning, East Palestine High School and East Palestine Middle School conducted an unannounced lockdown drill with the cooperation and support of the East Palestine Police Department, Springfield Township Police Department, and the Columbiana County Drug Task Force. No contraband was found in either school by the K9 officers. Both schools and all students are safe and sound.
Middle School MathCounts Update...Gabby Andre finishes in 15th place and Josh Bland comes in 7th. Josh has qualified for the state competition!
