Reset & Restart – Review #1

We are making many adjustments to our schools prior to students making their way back into the buildings to begin the school year. You will notice that Room 102MS and 203HS have been converted into additional health clinics. These rooms will be staffed with medical professionals from Akron Children’s Hospital and serve as designated areas for students that are showing symptoms of COVID-19. Students will be referred to these locations by school staff for medical needs that go beyond the typical bumps, cuts, or dispensation of medication. Also, we are constructing Plexiglas barriers, implementing social distancing protocols, and posting reminders throughout our buildings.

Congratulations to Cole Rutledge (2020)! Cole was recently accepted into the honors program at the University of Mount Union. Earlier this year, he was informed he would be receiving the Trustees scholarship through the university, and this week Cole has been selected to receive the Marion G. Resch Foundation Scholarship. Best of luck Cole!

After extensive work and close collaboration with state and local health officials, we have not received clearance to hold our tentative Class of 2020 events currently scheduled for the month of July. The safety of our students will always remain our top priority, and without the support of these health officials we simply cannot proceed as scheduled. While we held out hope that we could provide these culminating events for our students, our attention will now turn to the reopening of schools in the Fall of 2020. Congratulations once more to the Class of 2020 and best of luck in your future endeavors. The updated Class of 2020 events calendar is attached.
