Students in Mrs. Spanos' history classes had the opportunity to take a "virtual field trip" with park rangers from Gettysburg National Park today! Using Google Hangouts, students got to speak with the rangers, see artifacts and ask questions about the battle, the Civil War, career opportunities and more. This is just one part of an activity where students have taken on the role as a historian in order to gather evidence on the Civil War through primary and secondary sources. It will culminate with an argumentative essay in which they must answer: Was it Worth It? East Palestine helped the Gettysburg NPS to pilot their virtual field trip program back in 2016!

This morning, East Palestine High School and East Palestine Middle School conducted an unannounced lockdown drill with the cooperation and support of the East Palestine Police Department, Springfield Township Police Department, and the Columbiana County Drug Task Force.
