Students from Mrs. Goodchild’s High School Advanced Art Class recently participated in an exciting and educational field trip to Akron Glass Works, where they engaged in a hands-on glassblowing workshop inside a professional studio environment.

During the visit, students had the unique opportunity to observe skilled artisans at work and learn about the intricate process of glassblowing. Under expert guidance, each student created their own colorful drinking glass, gaining firsthand experience with heat, form, and the dynamic properties of molten glass.

This immersive experience allowed students to expand their understanding of three-dimensional art, craftsmanship, and material processes beyond the traditional classroom setting. The workshop also encouraged creative risk-taking and problem-solving as students translated their artistic ideas into functional works of art.

The trip was made possible by the generous sponsorship of the East Palestine Eagles, which provided students with access to this enriching opportunity.

Learning how to give clear, concise instructions is a superpower. Mrs. Roberts’ 5th Grade ELA students are proving they have it! As part of their "How-To" project series, Rosie Hamrick led a hands-on workshop on crafting Lizard Pony Bead Keychains. From drafting the steps to presenting in front of her peers, Rosie showed incredible leadership.

Every student left with a custom keychain and a better understanding of how to share knowledge with others.
