Good evening East Palestine families, this is Mr. Neifer, EPCSD Superintendent.
I am calling to update everyone about the situation that occurred at our Elementary school today. We had a small electrical fire that was contained in the mechanical closet on the second floor of the Kindergarten wing. Our staff and students did an amazing job evacuating the building safely and efficiently. Due to this fire we will be closing the Elementary School for the rest of the week. This will allow for the area to be professionally cleaned and the HVAC and electrical systems to be inspected by our contractors. Parent teacher conferences will still take place on Thursday evening. The location of conferences for the elementary staff will be moved to the MS/HS gymnasium. Scheduled times will be the same.
