Recently, East Palestine Schools lost two staff members who were invaluable in shaping both our current and former students.
First, Mr. Dave Brown passed away on December 14, 2020, at the age of 76. Mr. Brown was employed as a computer technology support specialist within the school district. In 2012, Mr. Brown was contracted through the Columbiana County Educational Service Center to provide his services, however, in 2017 he was hired directly by East Palestine Schools. He always brought good conversation and a helpful smile while he supported our many technology needs. Mr. Brown worked with our students and staff until his passing.
Finally, Mr. Gary Contini passed away suddenly on February 19, 2021, at the age of 69. Most notably, Mr. Contini worked as High School Principal from 2003 until 2011. In 2012, he was named the Director of the Special Education Department. Mr. Contini concluded his career in education by retiring from the school district after 30 years of service.
